This is a blog about continuously disappointing sports fan experiences. Experiences that have gotten so bad, it's almost comical. It's written by two guys who have had enough.
What is a sports dagger? It's Dikembe Mutumbo lying on his back clutching a basketball after upsetting the Sonics. It's Army missing a field goal on 3rd down in the Poulan Weed-Eater Independence Bowl against Auburn on New Year's Eve 1996 (their last bowl game and winning season). It's the Nationals being the Nationals. It's the Capitals losing to the Penguins every time they face them in the playoffs.
It even spills over into fantasy sports. Just two weeks ago, a college fantasy basketball game between these two authors came down to a tiebreaker. What is that? Who else does that happen to?
That's a sports dagger.
